Willow MHPS - Judging Guidelines
Admin & Results
-
If you are using your phone or tablet to implement results, we recommend getting the Google Sheets App rather than the browser versi
-
Please write up results in the exact format designated on the results sheet. Any deviations won't be accepted.
-
Do not share the results sheet. I will do this when all results are complete. This prevents participants challenging / influencing judges.
-
Any DQ must have a written reason (wrong division, wrong class etc.)
-
If there are multiple images in the comments section, please do not DQ.
-
Feel free to give helpful feedback to participants, either by commenting on their images or messaging them directly. All feedback should be phrased to be positive and constructive. Feedback can be about angles, lighting, breed assignment etc. Please do not give feedback on things out of the participants control such as camera quality - this could be discriminatory.
Halter / Breed Classes
CHAMPS
-
Please only select Section Champs & Section Reserves from 1st place models. Do not choose 2nd place models.
-
Please only select Division Champs & Division Reserves from Section Champs. Do not choose Section Reserves.

BREEDS / DIVISIONS
-
Please DQ if a model is in the wrong class or division. This must be determined alongside the Willow MHPS Class List and the division list.
-
Please do not use outside lists to determine whether a model is in the wrong class. You must use the Willow MHPS List to ensure continuity between classes, divisions, and shows.
-
Do not DQ if you don't agree with a breed assignment; just don't place the model, or place them last if there aren't enough to fill places.
-
Collectability is NOT a factor in breed classes. Rare models do not have an advantage and please judge without bias to rare models. Utilise documentation and accuracy over collectability.

Judging Criteria
Please follow the ABC's of judging:
-
Anatomy & Bio-mechanics
-
Is the model anatomically correct?
-
-
Breed Standards
-
Is the model's confirmation accurate to the breed assigned to it? Is the colour permitted under the breed guidelines?
-
-
Colour & Condition
-
How is the paintwork? Are there any major flaws that reduce realism?
-

Workmanship Classes
-
Only Custom Finish models (CM, AR etc.) are accepted. DQ any OF models.
-
Workmanship should be based on the finish work, including any damage to the finish work
Collectability Classes
-
Models should have some sort of reference (a screenshot of IDYB, description of the run/dates, photo of a COA etc.). Any models without should be DQ or not placed.
